Laser Cutting Cost Calculator

Estimate cutting speed, machine time, gas consumption and cost per part — for fiber laser cutting of mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum and copper alloys.

How the estimate is built

Speed comes from a lookup table of typical fiber laser cut speeds by material, thickness and power, with linear interpolation between table points. Time is cut length divided by speed. Cost adds machine time at your hourly rate, gas consumption per cutting hour (oxygen or nitrogen), consumables and a small setup allowance.

For a deeper breakdown of what actually drives the hourly rate — power, gas, maintenance, labor — see the cost per hour guide. To check what thickness each power class can hold, use the thickness and speed chart.
